Minutes...
Our last meeting at the field for the year was held on August 17th. Thanks to all that attended, and because of the turnout, a lot was accomplished.

To begin with, two motions that had been debated and discussed for the last several meetings were finally ratified and will become part of our bylaws. These are the adoption of the Emergency Fund and the AMA Guidelines for Pilot Training.

There was also motions which will be voted on at our September 21st meeting. The first motion will require all pilots joining the club to pass the AMA Training Test. The second motion will make the safety officer an elected position and require all nominations, for any position, to be made a minimum of 30 days before voting.

After all the politics were done, we were treated to an electric demonstration by Steve Swahn. And when he was done amazing us with his skill on the sticks, he went over what goes in to making, and setting up, one of these thrill rides for success. Thanks Steve!

From the Flight Line...
It’s been a long summer, but celebration time is almost here for the 1st class to graduate from the AMA Training Program. Thanks to all the instructors that have come out to help get our news pilots ready for flight among us. A special thanks goes out to Chris P. His hard work and dedication have made very capable pilots out of all our students. Please come out on September 24th and support Chris and his students as they leave the training group for solo careers.

But it doesn’t stop there! AMA Training Class 2 has already begun. Everyone is doing quite well and graduation is expected to complete in early December.

Thanks again for everyone who has supported this effort. Please continue to do so. If you have not, it’s never too late to get involved. All help is always welcomed!

Happy Landings!
